CERAMICS WITH BELARUSIAN ORNAMENT
On 25 September 2026, NUUNUU RUUM held two workshops “Ceramics with Belarusian Ornament”.
The event was part of the Tallinn National Cultures Days (Tallinna rahvuskultuuride päevad) programme.
Participants made cups and small plates from clay and decorated them with traditional Belarusian ornaments and inscriptions. We explored the meaning of different elements of Belarusian ornament and used traditional motifs in contemporary ceramics.
For decoration, we used underglaze colours and engobes. The pieces will now be dried and fired twice before participants can collect their finished ceramics.
The workshops were held in Estonian, Russian and English and brought together participants of different ages and levels of experience with clay.
